These Terms set out the basis on which Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and ADHD services are provided. By booking an appointment, you are agreeing to these Terms.
About the service
Dr. Divik Seth is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist providing private Psychiatry and ADHD assessment, diagnosis and treatment for children and adolescents aged 5–18 years old. Services are provided at Salus Wellness Clinics in Cambridge and remotely by secure video consultation across the UK.
What is included
Each appointment includes the consultation itself, clinical notes, and correspondence with your GP. When a formal assessment is undertaken (for example, ADHD or psychiatry), the appointment is followed by psychoeducation and a detailed report. This report is shared to you and your child's GP and includes the formulation, diagnosis and recommended management plan. Any ongoing follow-up appointments are arranged separately.
We are a private outpatient service and does not provide inpatient care, emergency or crisis intervention, or out-of-hours cover. If your child is in crisis or requires urgent support, please contact your local healthcare provider, GP, call 111, or attend A&E.
We do not include 24-hour availability, emergency response, therapy (for example CBT). Referrals to external therapists can be made where clinically appropriate. Additional letters or documentation requested for schools, GPs or other professionals beyond standard correspondence issued after an appointment, may incur a separate fee.
Consent & parental responsibility
For children under 16, the person with parental responsibility must provide consent for assessment and treatment. For adolescents aged 16–18, consent is discussed directly with the young person in line with Gillick competence principles. Where both parents hold parental responsibility, both parents’ views will be considered where appropriate.
Fees & payment
All services are subject to a fee.
We are currently in the process of registering with the insurance firms, but this may take some time. At present, we are only able to accept self‑funded patients. However, we may be able to provide an invoice and supporting letter should you wish to submit a claim directly to your insurance provider.
Please note that some insurance firms do not support the full cost of an appointment and you will, therefore, be asked to pay the difference. Some insurance firms do not support the assessment for possible ADHD or the ongoing treatment of ADHD. Please check your insurance policy to see whether you are covered.
Cancellation & non-attendance
Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Appointments cancelled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, will be subject to a charge of 50% of the appointment fee to cover room and administrative costs. This charge may be waived at Dr Seth's discretion in exceptional circumstances.
Prescribing & repeat prescriptions
Where medication is recommended, Dr Seth will discuss the rationale, expected benefits and potential side effects with you and your child.
Prescriptions are issued during scheduled medication appointments. The fee for the consultation includes the prescription but does not include the cost of medication. Repeat prescriptions requested outside of an appointment are subject to a fee.
Please allow 7 days for processing and submit requests at least 7 days before medication runs out. Submitting a repeat prescription request does not guarantee a prescription will be issued; requests are reviewed clinically.
Shared care
Once your child is stable on medication, Dr Seth will write to your GP requesting a shared care arrangement. Shared care depends on GP agreement and local prescribing policy. We cannot guarantee that a GP will accept shared care. If shared care is not accepted, ongoing private prescribing and review arrangements can be discussed.
Continuity of Care
Regular medication reviews are required to ensure safe prescribing and continuity of care.
We will schedule your next appointment either within your consultation or, if it is due at a later stage, we will contact you by email to arrange a suitable date
Remote consultations
Remote consultations are conducted via secure video. You are responsible for ensuring a private, quiet space and a reliable internet connection.
In person consultations
Some assessments require an in person consultation and cannot be conducted remotely. In person consultations take place at Salus Wellness Clinics, Norman House, Cambridge Pl, Cambridge CB2 1NS.
Confidentiality & safeguarding
All consultations are confidential. We share information with GPs, schools and other professionals only with your explicit consent, except where disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect the safety of your child or others (safeguarding). GMC and Royal College of Psychiatrists guidance on confidentiality and safeguarding are followed at all times. You may read our Privacy Policy https://adhdclinic.org.uk/privacy-policy
