Being well‑prepared helps us use the appointment time as effectively as possible. The information below outlines what to expect and how to prepare.
Prior to the appointment
You may be sent questionnaires or forms to complete. Please return these ahead of the appointment so they can be reviewed in advance. It is helpful to gather any previous assessments or reports, school documentation (including SEN or EHCP information), a brief summary of your main concerns, and details of current medication or relevant medical history.
On the day
Arrive a few minutes early so your child can settle.
For face‑to‑face appointments
Please bring any documents not already shared. Some children find it helpful to bring a familiar or calming item.
For remote appointments
Ensure you have a stable internet connection, a quiet and private space, and working audio and video. The video link will be sent to you beforehand.
During the appointment
Dr Seth will take time to understand your child’s needs and hear from both you and your child. With permission, Dr Seth may speak with your child alone for part of the session; this is a routine part of the assessment and helps me understand their experience directly. If medication is recommended, Dr Seth will discuss this with you during the appointment.
Post-appointment
You will receive a detailed written report. Dr Seth will write to your GP. If further appointments are needed, these will be discussed and arranged. You are welcome to email with follow-up questions.
Prescriptions
Repeat prescriptions should be requested at least 7 days before your child is due to run out of medication to ensure continuity of treatment. Where relevant, medication reviews will be arranged to support safe prescribing and ongoing care.
